Chavara Ashram is situated in the Pala-Kizhaparayar-Paika road, near Idamattom junction. KTJM High School (Kuruvinakunnel Thomman Joseph Memorial High School - Estd. 1955) that formerly belonged to the Kuruvinakunnel family was transferred to the CMI St Joseph Province, Kottayam through a deed signed on May 28, 1983. On March 18, 1985 the foundation stone of the new CMI residence near the school was laid and was blessed on December 15, 1985. A Boarding House for boys was started on October 4, 1989. Chavara Sadan, a residence for senior priests attached to the Ashram, was blessed on March 15, 2023.
